benefits of therapy

Self-awareness: By investing time in ourselves and being curious about what we’re experiencing we often come out of therapy sessions with more understanding of what emotions we’re feeling, of our thoughts, body sensations, and why we cope the way that we do.

Self-compassion: The more we understand our selves and how our experiences have shaped us, the easier it is for us to be self-compassionate, self-nurturing, and self-protective.

Improved communication: Therapy can help us understand ourselves and what we need from others in our life. Once we understand these needs, we can clearly set boundaries and make requests to improve relationships with loved ones, with friends, and at work.

  • "The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change."

    ~ Carl Rogers

  • “There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you."

    ~ Maya Angelou

  • “Our wounds are often the openings into the best and most beautiful parts of us."

    ~ David Richo
